Aaditya Thackeray echoed these sentiments, asserting that fair treatment is crucial for maintaining trust in the electoral process. “We respect the law, but it must apply equally to everyone,” he stated.
The Election Commission of India (ECI) swiftly responded to the allegations, clarifying that its procedures are standardized and non-partisan. “Our checks are conducted as part of routine procedures that aim to uphold the integrity of the election process. No individual or political group is singled out,” said an official from the ECI.
