Three arrested in Baba Siddique murder case, age fraud exposed through bone test.
Mumbai police have arrested three key suspects involved in the murder of politician Baba Siddique, who was gunned down in a high-profile attack in Mumbai, sparking concerns across political circles. Siddique, a former member of the Indian National Congress who had recently joined the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), was fatally shot outside his son’s office just weeks ahead of critical Maharashtra state elections.
Among the accused are Dharamraj Rajesh Kashyap, Shiva Kumar Gautam, and Pravin Lonkar, who has been identified as a co-conspirator. Police investigations reveal that both Kashyap and Gautam, who are from Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh, traveled to Mumbai in search of work but allegedly became embroiled in criminal activities.
The case took a significant turn when Kashyap claimed to be a minor during his court appearance. However, a bone ossification test was ordered to verify his age. After the test, it was confirmed that he is not a minor, allowing his trial to proceed in a regular court rather than a juvenile one. Gautam, on the other hand, remains at large, with police conducting searches to locate him.
The third suspect, Pravin Lonkar, was arrested from Pune, where he was found hiding. His role as a co-conspirator has brought to light possible connections to organized crime syndicates, including a notorious gang led by Lawrence Bishnoi, known for its involvement in high-profile murders. Investigators are now probing if this gang has international links, further complicating the case.
The police are also exploring whether Baba Siddique assassination was politically motivated, as he was a key player in Maharashtra’s political landscape. Siddique had received death threats prior to the attack, and his murder occurred amidst heightened political tensions in the state, leading to widespread condemnation from political figures.
This case has drawn significant attention due to Baba Siddique strong ties to Bollywood and his prominent role in Maharashtra’s political scene. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities focusing on uncovering the motive behind the murder and any additional conspirators involved.
With elections approaching, Baba Siddique death has raised security concerns, and the state government has vowed to take stringent action against the culprits. Public prosecutor Gautam Gaikwad emphasized the need for thorough investigation, as questions about political rivalries and gang involvement linger.
This case highlights how organized crime networks continue to pose a significant threat to high-profile figures in India. As the investigation progresses, more details about the conspiracy are expected to emerge.
