The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has unveiled its 25-point manifesto for the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections, with a focus on development, security, and social welfare. The manifesto, released by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, highlights the party’s commitment to eliminating terrorism and separatism, while promoting peace, progress, and cultural restoration in the region.
Key promises include the creation of 5 lakh jobs through the Pandit Prem Nath Dogra Rozgar Yojana, financial support for women under the Maa Samman Yojana (₹18,000 per year for the senior-most woman in each household), and the provision of 2 free LPG cylinders annually for Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana beneficiaries. The BJP also aims to restore 100 temples, including significant sites like the Shankaracharya and Raghunath temples, and boost the tourism sector by developing Dal Lake into a world-class destination(India Today)(mint).
Amit Shah emphasized that Article 370, which was abrogated in 2019, is now a part of history and will never be reinstated. The elections, set to be held in three phases beginning September 18, will mark the first assembly polls since the reorganization of Jammu and Kashmir into a Union Territory(mint).
