Royal Enfield has officially launched the Bear 650, a new addition to its 650cc motorcycle lineup, priced at ₹3.39 lakh (ex-showroom, India). This model stands out as the lightest and tallest bike in the 650cc range, designed for both on-road and off-road riding enthusiasts.
Key Features and Specifications
- Engine: The Bear 650 is powered by a 648cc parallel-twin engine, delivering 47.6 bhp at 7,150 rpm and 56.5 Nm of torque at 5,150 rpm. The engine’s torque has been enhanced due to the adoption of a two-into-one exhaust system, replacing the traditional dual exhaust setup.
- Weight and Dimensions: Weighing 216 kg, the Bear 650 has a seat height of 830 mm, making it the tallest bike in the 650 series. The bike features increased ground clearance of 184 mm and a longer suspension travel, now at 130 mm for the front and 115 mm for the rear, which enhances its off-road capabilities.
- Wheels and Tires: The motorcycle comes with a unique wheel setup—19-inch front and 17-inch rear spoked wheels, fitted with MRF Nylorex block pattern tyres. This configuration aligns the Bear 650 more closely with scrambler-style riding.
- Suspension: It features upgraded suspension components, including Showa USD forks at the front and dual shock absorbers at the rear. This setup is designed to provide a comfortable and stable ride, whether on rugged terrain or smooth roads.
- Braking System: Equipped with a 320 mm front disc and a 270 mm rear disc, the Bear 650 supports dual-channel ABS, which can be turned off for the rear wheel, providing greater control during off-road rides.
- Technology: The motorcycle is outfitted with a circular TFT display that includes navigation features and connectivity options, controlled via new switchgear. The display supports Google Maps and includes a USB-C charging port.
Design Elements
The Bear 650’s design draws inspiration from the scrambler genre, featuring a distinctive seat that is slightly raised at the rear, round LED headlights, and side panels with competition number boards, enhancing its rugged appeal.
Royal Enfield has released the bike in several colors, allowing for personalization to suit rider preferences.
