Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, urging the introduction of a Vande Bharat Express train connecting Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh to Sitamarhi in Bihar. Sitamarhi, believed to be the birthplace of Goddess Sita, holds religious significance, and this proposed rail link aims to enhance connectivity for pilgrims visiting both Ayodhya, a prominent Hindu pilgrimage site, and Sitamarhi.
Nitish Kumar emphasized the cultural and historical importance of such a connection, which would boost tourism in both regions. He also highlighted that the Vande Bharat Express, known for its speed and modern amenities, would significantly cut down travel time between the two spiritual destinations. The proposed route aligns with ongoing efforts to improve rail infrastructure and promote religious tourism across the country.
This request follows the broader initiative of expanding the Vande Bharat Express services to various key cities, reflecting the demand for better connectivity in historically and culturally important locations.
