Union Home Minister Amit Shah, addressing a rally in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district, vowed a strong response to any cross-border firing from Pakistan. During his speech, he asserted that under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, the days of tolerating border violations are over. Shah emphasized that any bullet fired from across the Line of Control (LoC) would be met with bullets, not dialogue, signaling a no-nonsense stance on security.
Shah highlighted the transformation in Jammu and Kashmir under the Modi government, contrasting it with previous administrations. He criticized former regimes for their failure to address terrorism and cross-border issues. Shah lauded the efforts to uplift Gujjar, Bakarwal, and Pahari communities, promising further reservation benefits and better employment opportunities for youth in the region.
The rally was part of the BJP’s ongoing campaign ahead of the Jammu and Kashmir elections. Shah assured that the Modi government would continue its efforts to strengthen the region, pledging economic benefits such as free LPG cylinders and increased financial assistance for farmers. The rally was aimed at rallying support for BJP candidate Murtaza Khan, and Shah’s message was clear: the BJP is committed to securing peace and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir, with no tolerance for terrorism or cross-border threats .
