Father of Disha Patani Defrauded of ₹25 Lakh

agdish Singh Patani, the father of Bollywood actress Disha Patani, fell victim to a deceptive scheme by a group of five individuals who swindled him out of ₹25 lakh. The accused promised him a prestigious role within a government commission, leveraging their purported political connections. The prime suspect, Shivendra Pratap Singh, reportedly introduced Patani to the others, including Diwakar Garg, Acharya Jayaprakash from Juna Akhara, Preeti Garg, and an unidentified individual, all of whom played a part in the fraudulent scheme. They persuaded Patani that his involvement in a governmental position was imminent and necessary for them to collect a substantial fee.

The fraud was executed in two installments: ₹5 lakh in cash and ₹20 lakh, which was transferred across various bank accounts. However, after the payment was made, the accused failed to fulfill their promises. When Patani demanded his money back, the fraudsters allegedly resorted to threats and intimidation, further compounding the situation.

Patani, shocked and distressed by the developments, reported the matter to the Bareilly Kotwali police. An FIR was filed against the individuals involved, and charges of cheating, criminal intimidation, and extortion were leveled against them. The police have initiated an investigation and are currently making efforts to apprehend the suspects​ mint​.

The case has drawn significant attention, given the involvement of a prominent figure’s father and the audacity of the fraudsters. Authorities are committed to taking swift action against the perpetrators, emphasizing the seriousness of such crimes involving threats and manipulation​
