Amit Shah Slams Soren Govt, Pledges Development for Jharkhand

In his rally today in Jharkhand, Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a fierce attack on the ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)-Congress-RJD alliance, accusing them of being the “most corrupt” government in the country. He emphasized that the people of Jharkhand had endured enough corruption and inefficiency under the current regime and were now looking to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for a change. Shah assured the public that a BJP government would focus on development, security, and the welfare of the people, while also promising to hold corrupt leaders accountable.

Shah’s rally took place just ahead of the state’s upcoming assembly elections, where the BJP is hoping to capitalize on the discontent against the state government. The Home Minister particularly targeted Chief Minister Hemant Soren and his government for their failure to address crucial issues like rising corruption, the safety of tribal lands, and the deteriorating security situation, including the growing influence of Naxalism. Shah highlighted the BJP’s commitment to fighting these challenges, asserting that the party would offer substantial support to backward classes, tribals, and the youth of Jharkhand.

The BJP’s manifesto, which Shah had earlier released, promises sweeping changes, including the creation of three lakh new government jobs, 27% reservation for OBCs, and substantial financial support for women and youth through schemes like the Gogo Didi Yojana and an unemployment allowance for the youth. Shah underscored the party’s stance on securing the state’s “Roti, Beti, and Maati” (food, daughters, and land), a slogan aimed at appealing to the people’s desire for economic stability and security.

Shah also drew attention to the BJP’s efforts in infrastructure development, criticizing the current government for failing to improve education and health facilities, particularly in areas like Chatra district. He promised that a BJP government would prioritize building new colleges, hospitals, and other essential infrastructure within two years.

In addition to his rally speeches, Shah took the opportunity to criticize the Congress, the RJD, and the JMM for enabling infiltrators to occupy tribal lands, thereby endangering the safety and identity of Jharkhand’s indigenous communities. He pledged that the BJP would ensure the removal of such infiltrators and provide a secure environment for the tribals.

With Jharkhand set to hold its elections in two phases on November 13 and 20, Shah’s remarks are part of the BJP’s broader strategy to assert itself as a major force in the state, contrasting its development-focused agenda against what it describes as the corrupt and inefficient governance of the current coalition​
