Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a sharp dig at Congress while addressing BJP workers in Delhi after their decisive victory in the Haryana elections. He celebrated the historic hat-trick win of the BJP in the state, emphasizing that it was a testament to the development-centric politics the party pursued. Modi praised the hard work of BJP President JP Nadda and Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini for ensuring this victory, marking a significant milestone as the first government in the state to complete three consecutive terms.
During his speech, PM Modi criticized Congress for trying to cast doubt on the electoral process by making baseless allegations about counting irregularities. He accused the opposition of resorting to “misleading” tactics to deflect from their own failures. Modi further underscored how the Congress, despite its attempts to instigate divisions among farmers and other communities, had failed to secure public support.
The Prime Minister lauded the people of Haryana for their overwhelming mandate, which he said had “broken the chain of lies” spun by Congress. Modi’s remarks also extended beyond Haryana as he referenced Congress’s broader failure to retain power in various states since 2011, painting the party as out of touch with the public.
This victory speech came at a moment when BJP also saw increased vote shares in Jammu and Kashmir, though Congress and the National Conference managed to form a coalition government there. Modi framed these results as a vindication of the BJP’s long-standing commitment to development and democratic values, further positioning his party as the primary force in Indian politics.
With these victories, Modi and BJP appear poised for further electoral success, particularly in the upcoming general elections, as they continue to focus on stability, development, and national unity.
