Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reaffirmed the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) commitment to restoring full statehood to Jammu and Kashmir (J&K). Speaking during a recent political rally, PM Modi stated that only a BJP government can fulfill the long-standing demand for statehood, a promise made since the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019. The Prime Minister highlighted that his party is dedicated to bringing lasting peace, development, and democratic stability to the region, asserting that statehood would be granted once the situation in J&K stabilizes.
PM Modi emphasized the BJP’s historic decision to revoke Article 370, which granted special status to J&K, marking a new chapter in the region’s political and economic integration with India. He pointed out that the abrogation has opened up opportunities for greater investment, infrastructure development, and job creation in the union territory. According to him, significant improvements in the law-and-order situation and security environment have laid the groundwork for a smoother transition to statehood in the near future.
Criticizing opposition parties, PM Modi said that their leadership had failed to deliver on promises to the people of J&K. He claimed that these parties were responsible for decades of stagnation, corruption, and lack of development in the region. He accused them of exploiting the emotions of the people while failing to address their real concerns, such as unemployment, poverty, and basic amenities. Modi assured the people that under BJP rule, they could expect transformative changes and a transparent, accountable government that puts development first.
The Prime Minister also acknowledged the challenges posed by terrorism and cross-border militancy, but reiterated that his government has taken decisive steps to address these issues. He credited his administration’s robust national security policies for reducing militancy-related violence and bringing about an era of relative peace in J&K. PM Modi expressed hope that the peaceful situation will enable the statehood process to proceed smoothly.
In his speech, the Prime Minister promised that development in J&K is one of the top priorities of his government. He listed several infrastructure projects already underway, including road connectivity, healthcare facilities, educational institutions, and tourism promotion. Modi stressed that these projects would benefit the region economically, fostering both local entrepreneurship and attracting national and international investments. He invited the people of J&K to support BJP’s vision for the region, reiterating that statehood would not be a distant dream but a reality under his leadership.
PM Modi concluded his address by urging citizens to place their trust in the BJP, stating that only his party can offer a prosperous, peaceful, and progressive future for J&K. He reinforced the idea that statehood for J&K is an achievable goal, and under a stable BJP-led government, this promise will be fulfilled.
