During a rally in poll-bound Jammu, Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a scathing attack on the National Conference (NC) and Congress, accusing them of trying to reignite terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. Shah claimed that three prominent families—the Gandhis, Abdullahs, and Muftis—had looted the region for decades and were now seeking to destabilize it by supporting terrorist sympathizers and stone pelters. He criticized their alleged agenda of reviving cross-LoC trade and promoting unrest in sensitive areas like Rajouri and Poonch.
Shah also assured the people that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would not allow terrorism to return, emphasizing that talks with Pakistan would only happen once peace is fully restored in the region. He called on the electorate to reject the NC-Congress alliance, warning that their return to power could undo the progress made since the abrogation of Article 370.
Shah further addressed concerns about Jammu and Kashmir’s statehood, promising that it would be restored at an appropriate time following the assembly elections. He dismissed Rahul Gandhi’s claims of restoring statehood as political posturing, stating that only the BJP had the authority and commitment to fulfill this promise in due course (India Today)(Zee News).
