Revolt Motors has launched the RV1 electric motorcycle in India, pricing it at an affordable ₹84,990 (ex-showroom). This new addition to the company’s lineup is tailored for the commuter segment and offers an accessible entry point into electric two-wheelers, especially for urban riders. The RV1 comes with a standard range of 100 kilometers on a single charge, making it ideal for daily commuting needs in the city. For those needing a bit more, the premium RV1+ variant, priced at ₹99,990, extends the range to 160 kilometers.
Key Specifications:
- Performance: The RV1 is powered by a mid-mounted electric motor producing 2.8 kW of power, allowing a top speed of 70 km/h. This makes it perfect for urban commuting while balancing speed and efficiency.
- Range and Battery: The RV1 standard version is equipped with a 2.2 kWh battery offering a range of 100 kilometers, while the RV1+ variant sports a larger 3.24 kWh battery, extending the range to an impressive 160 kilometers. Both versions support fast charging.
- Charging Time: The RV1+ can charge fully in just 1.5 hours, thanks to its fast-charging capability, making it highly convenient for daily commuters.
- Weight and Payload: With a weight of 108 kg, the RV1 is lightweight but sturdy. Its payload capacity of 250 kg is significantly higher than many commuter bikes, adding practicality for carrying passengers or loads.
Design and Features:
The Revolt RV1 includes several features that set it apart in the commuter electric bike segment. It comes with dual disc brakes for enhanced safety and control, LED headlights and taillights for better visibility, and a six-inch digital LCD display that shows real-time data such as speed, battery levels, and error codes.
Notably, the RV1 introduces a reverse mode, a first in its category, making it easier to park in tight spaces, a common concern in crowded urban areas. The bike’s broader tires add to its grip and stability on various surfaces.
The RV1’s design is practical yet stylish, boasting the longest seat in its segment, which is ideal for carrying two passengers comfortably. It is available in multiple color options, catering to different aesthetic preferences.
Affordability and Sustainability:
Revolt Motors has designed the RV1 to be an affordable alternative to petrol motorcycles, with ownership costs said to be three times lower. The RV1 offers a sustainable transportation solution, aligning with India’s increasing shift towards electric vehicles. With low running costs, zero emissions, and modern features, the RV1 aims to attract both first-time buyers and those transitioning from traditional bikes to electric alternatives.
This launch further strengthens Revolt Motors’ presence in the electric two-wheeler market, which already includes models like the RV400. By introducing a commuter-focused electric bike at an accessible price, Revolt is setting a new standard for electric mobility in India.
