Huawei is set to unveil the world’s first trifoldable smartphone during its product launch event on September 10, 2024. This innovative device is expected to feature a 10-inch display when fully unfolded, making it a significant leap in smartphone technology. While traditional foldable phones offer a tablet-like experience, Huawei’s tri-fold design will further enhance screen real estate, addressing the limitations of smaller foldables.
Leaks suggest that the device will have a dual-hinge mechanism, allowing it to fold inward and outward. Huawei’s CEO, Richard Yu, has teased the device, describing it as a cutting-edge product resulting from five years of investment and development. The phone will also likely feature a circular camera module on the back and a slim profile when folded(Gizmochina)(9to5Google).
Though the device is initially expected to launch in China, its global release remains uncertain due to ongoing restrictions on Huawei’s access to Google apps. Still, the event is highly anticipated, as this technology promises to push the boundaries of foldable devices(9to5Google).
